Що такое относительные, абсолютные стили?

Не стили, а пути.

В твоем примере, что ты привел выше - это абсолютный путь до файла со стилями с указанием url адреса,

а в моем примере - это относительный путь, то есть относительно твоей корневой дирректории сайта.

скопируте эту строчку. и у Вас файл styles.css должен находится в корне сайта

скопировал,но всёравно стиль текста не изменился ,может фаил css неправильно оформлен?Даже тестовый фаил делал всёравно то же результат

так будет работать?

/site/ - папка с сайтом

— index.html

— styles.css

содержимое этих файлов такое примерно

index.html

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="styles.css">
</head>
<body>
превед
</body>
</html>

styles.css

body {background:#777777;}

фон должен стать серым.
