Помогите найти ошибку, пожалуйста, не могу применить сss

Не меняется заголовок Меню1, в чем может быть проблема?

Посмотрите на первую строчку, это доктайп, он строгий. Посмотрим что скажет валидатор:

Валидатор W3org

10 ошибок. К тому же путь в html обычно пишут через прямой слэш ( / )

Скажите, а файлик со стилями вообще подключается к страничке? попробуйте фон страницы поменять?

Спасибо, только так, по другому не получается <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="file://E:\mai_sait\scripts\mystyle.css">

4 часа понадобилось)))

Проверяла на валидность, ошибки видела, но не разобралась, что именно у меня не так. Подчеркивает кавычки, а что с ними может быть? Кавычки, как кавычки. Пошла собирать инфу по прямому слешу. Файл до этого- file:// вообще не подключался. Зато теперь все работает.

Относительный путь не подходит - не видно картинок и не подгружается файл со стилями. У меня ещё вопросик))) Я добиваюсь корректного отображения во всех браузерах. Может зря я это делаю? В каких браузерах нужно проверять код? Я встречала где-то статью, что достаточно проверять в 3 браузерах, но забыла в каких:facepalmxd:
