незаменимая вещь для внесения изменений в конфиги, стили. поправить там опечатку итд, чтоб не запускать фтп-клиент. просмотреть код страницы если нет возможности иным путем.

в идеале сюда еще можно прикрутить рекурсию папок + авторизацию

нотепад лучший, меня от подсветки через пару часов начинает глючить

В некоторых редакторах дефолтная подсветка - действительно кошмар, иногда приходилось немного исправлять вручную...

В печь тебя надо )
