IE8 отрисовывает текст первой ячейки за пределы онной. Как побороть, если паддинг нужен?

100% я поделил на две колонки: 54% и 46%. Взял отступы 4%, 6%, 4% и вычел их из ширины. То, что вы говорите, я проделал. Вторая итерация будет лишней. Так в теории, но и на практие ваш совет не приносит результата.

Сделал вместо паддинга пустые колонки. Теперь интересно, что за баг такой в ИЕ8. В Опере, ФФ, Хроме, ИЕ6 всё ровно с этим кодом.
