Делаю ЧПУ но в инете достаточно много ссылок старого вида, соответственно человек приходя по ссылке showmodel.php?rid=213amp;bid=26amp;sid=522amp;mid=64019 получает редерект на showmodel/категория/брэнд/коллекция/модель

Так вот вопрос что лучше отдавать HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently или HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found ?

Сделайте изящную подмену через NC. Чёта типа этого


  RewriteEngine on
  RewriteRule ^taxonomy/term/(.+)/feed taxonomy/term/$1/0/feed [NC]

И rel=canonical. Редирект не совсем нужен здесь. Иногда нужно геты тестить, а вы лишаетесь этой возможности. Каноничка прекрасно склеит

Суть в том что отдавать страницы по старым ссылкам я категорически не могу... Страницы должны быть доступны только по одному единственному url иначе это будет большой пролет в СЕО и потом в моем случаи /категория/брэнд/коллекция/модель берутся из базы и пишутся словами путем опять того же mod_rewrite + require_once
